It is a tragic commentary on the present direction of our enlightened Twentieth Century to be compelled to state it is no longer safe for American citizens to take a walk on the streets and in the public parks of many of their cities. The Capital City of the United States; Washington, D.C. has become "a city of fear after dark." Even Jessie Jackson stated that when he heard footsteps behind him at night, in the city, and he looked around and it was a white man he was relieved. In his news column the former commentator Walter Trohan wrote: "Citizens are afraid to go out at night in what many consider the Capital of crime as well as the Capital of political power."
The appalling conditions in our nation's Capital are prevalent in varying alarming degrees in most of our large cities, including New York, the financial metropolis of world renown. City authorities have demonstrated for some time that they have no adequate solution to the problem of making the streets safe for the people, day or night, from criminals and marauding gangs of hoodlums, mostly black. Even with the current manipulation of numbers, to make it appear that New York is getting safer.
Even as early as 1969, in a special Press Conference, on March 14, 1969, which was almost wholly concerned with the position of his Administration on the Safeguard ABM defense system in the United States, then President Nixon discounted the ability of the government to protect our cities from a nuclear holocaust. His statement was in these words: "The program does not provide defense for our cities, I have made the decision in regard to this particular point because I found that there is no way; even if we were to expand the limited Sentinel System, which was planned for some of our cities, to a so-called heavy, or thick, system, there is no way that we can adequately defend our cities without an unacceptable loss of life."
This incredible admission: "there is no way that we can adequately defend our cities" emanating form the highest governmental office in our land, only confirms what the Psalmist stated many generations ago: "Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain." (Psalm 127:1)
It is appalling that those in authority are openly admitting they do not know how to cope with the depredations of the criminally-inclined within our cities or make adequate provisions to defend our cities from destruction by the foe without. A leadership that is unable to provide for the common defense of this nation brings to mind the message of the Lord through the Prophet Ezekiel: "Ye have not gone up into the gaps (breaches), neither made up the hedge for the house of Israel to stand in the battle in the day of the Lord (i.e., the Battle of That Great Day of God Almighty)." (Ezekiel 13:5)
The severe condemnation of the Lord is invited, for the reason given: "Because, even because they have seduced my people, saying, Peace; and there was no peace." (Ezekiel 13:10)
The situation is one of total desperation and the Lord points to the cause and the cure: "O Israel, thou hast destroyed thyself; but in me is thine help. I will be thy king: where is any other that may save thee in all thy cities?" (Hosea 13:9-10)
When we at last come to the realization that, as Hosea tells us, our help is in the Lord, the nation will then understand what Isaiah meant by his declaration: "In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee." (Isaiah 54:14)
And for the Peterists in our midst, this never happened in ancient Israel nor at any time between then and today in 1997.
The result will be: "No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord." (Isaiah 54:17)
Here is yet another prophecy which has not come to pass yet.
In that day the most devastating nuclear weapons in the arsenals of the foes of His Kingdom will be powerless to accomplish their purpose. In that day, when God's people awaken to righteousness and become convinced that the Lord will save us in all our cities, and country, our defense will be assured. In that day also, the governmental leaders who neglected to prepare God's people for the Day of Battle, mouthing compromise and appeasement, having seen only vanity and having divined lies, according to Ezekiel, will receive their just due: "They shall not be in assembly (i.e., the councils) of my people; neither shall they be written (as individual names) in the writing (of the record of history) of the house of Israel; neither shall they enter into the land of Israel; and ye shall know that I am the Lord God." (Ezekiel 13:9)
Under the pressures of extreme adversity, the day is near at hand when the Israelites of our nation will repudiate all those who endeavor to come to amicable terms with the vicious and deceitful foe. Then the people will become willing to return to the practice of righteousness and the Lord's promise will be fulfilled: "Therefore will I save my flock, and they shall no more be a prey...and I will make with them a covenant of peace, and will cause the evil beasts to cease out of the land." (Ezekiel 34:22, 25).
Today evil beasts roam our streets in the guise of gangs of niggers, bent upon vandalism, rape, pillage and looting, for no better reason than their own unrestrained passions to wantonly wreck and destroy. In the day that the Lord moves to cleanse His people of all evil, there will be only one verdict for them: DESTRUCTION!
Think about how wonderful it will be to live in a cleansed and renewed society where "there will be no complaining in our streets." (Psalm 114:14) In that day the promise of the Lord will be fulfilled (Ezekiel 36:27): "And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them."
None of these things has Israel or the Lord God Almighty done yet, but they will!
